ABOUT 16 CROWNS
16 Crowns is a modern design brand informed by the symbolic and philosophical structures of Ifá. The name honors the 16 Major Odu of the Ifá corpus—the primary patterns of knowledge that shape how meaning, order, and possibility are understood within the tradition.
In Ifá, an Odu is a pattern of understanding.
Each Odu carries its own logic: numerical sequences, elemental foundations, color relationships, and conceptual principles. These patterns organize information, guide interpretation, and reflect how structure appears in nature and human life.
It is also understood in Ifá that every person and every creation is born under an Odu, carrying a distinct pattern and purpose. This idea influences how we think about design, identity, and intention.
At 16 Crowns, these frameworks are translated into contemporary form.
The choices behind our shapes, proportions, materials, and color palettes are guided by Odu-based thinking rather than decorative trends. Our imagery is not ornamental—it is a visual interpretation of underlying systems. One example is Eji Ogbe (Yoba Meji), represented by II, the first of the Major Odu and associated with beginnings. Its structure appears throughout the brand as a symbol of origin, clarity, and intentional creation.
We create books, lifestyle goods, and spiritual tools for individuals and families who value cultural grounding and meaningful design.
Our work reflects the belief that ancestral knowledge can live comfortably in modern spaces—quietly, intelligently, and with intention.
16 Crowns is where structure meets storytelling, and where every piece is made with purpose.
